Hackathon: The City as Data Space

New solutions

The City as Data Space project combines data about Amsterdam in one place. Think of information about culture, buildings, people and money. It will be one of the first large open data platforms in Europe. Why is that important? If data is easily accessible, people can create something new with it: art, teaching materials, research, games or smart applications with AI.

Working in teams

During this hackathon, you will work in teams on ideas for a better city. You will come up with solutions using real data. You will also help design services or rules needed to make the City as a Data Space work well. Designers and artists will think about how to use data creatively. Programmers and data specialists will build the first models. And residents of Amsterdam will think about what is essential for a fair and safe digital city.

In workshops, you share knowledge and experiences with other participants, including people from citizen councils, open data communities and social organizations.
