The message behind Pride Amsterdam

Pride Amsterdam is one of the largest events in Europe and is a festival to celebrate the freedom to be who you are and love who you want.

For 27 years, Pride has played an important role in the emancipation of the LGBTQ+ community. It stands for 'being who you are and loving who you want'. Nothing will change in that.

But how you give meaning and content to the event is different for everyone. The past few years have been dominated by sexual orientation and the struggle to deviate from heteronormativity. Change is in order, but the journey is not easy

Accessibility

Accessibility is important for Pride Amsterdam and that everyone can participate. That is why there are many free activities and so money is not an issue. But that is not enough. We also do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome.

This means we try to take into account any limitations of our visitors as much as possible. For example, Pride Amsterdam is affiliated with Hidden Disabilities , we work together with Mensenkenners and Roze Gebaar, we have facilities along the Canal Parade route to maximise accessibility and Zonder Stempel regularly sails along with its own boat.

In the agenda, you can filter activities by the presence of a sign language interpreter, loud music, bright lights and accessible toilets.
