Hartjesdag

Hartjesdag will return to the Zeedijk in August 2024 with a new edition. The Hartjesdag is a multi-day festival on the Zeedijk, one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam. On the third Monday in August, Hartjesdag was the carnival for Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Men dressed like women, and women wore men's clothes. It was the day that Amsterdammers went all out. Please note: Listed date and time for 2025 is subject to change.

In her own teaching practice, she also took children along in the wisdom of Hermes for years, because: 'Children who know their origins have a head start in life.'

SAIL Amsterdam occurs once every five years and is one of the city's largest events. The tenth edition is set to commence in August 2025. A massive fleet of large ships and various other special vessels sail across the IJ and dock near the city center. Sail 2025 coincides with two other significant anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of Sail (which was first organized in 1975) and the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam. It's a triple celebration.

From August 20th to 24th, 2025 , KAAP de Groene Hoop will be the place to be during SAIL. At our quay, everything comes together in a vibrant skipper's village: ships dock, businesses showcase their products, and local chefs serve delicious dishes. Enjoy music, socializing, and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere. Grab a drink, relax, and watch the tall ships sail by as the sun sets.

SAIL: Saluut Protocollair

During the SAIL-In Parade, the Tall Ships will be festively welcomed with the Salute Protocollair. From the Sixhaven, Salute Battery Naarden will fire ceremonial cannon shots, followed by the national anthem of each incoming ship, while flags of the participating countries will be raised. A tribute to all cultures at SAIL 2025.

The restaurant, with its panoramic views, is the perfect spot to enjoy your dessert while watching the fireworks.

On Thursday 21 August 2025, the Pieremachocheltocht will sail through the Amsterdam canals during SAIL 2025. Imaginative vessels, from bizarre constructions to floating works of art, will sail through the canals. Live music, a competitive element and a festive award ceremony will complete the event. Participation is free, registration is required.
