Social Justice and the Arts

Over the past two years, SJDA has developed an approach focused on inclusivity in arts education. This includes training dance students to create inclusive spaces and forming a protest choir that explores how collective singing fosters social change.

Migrant Perspectives

Key to their work is understanding gentrification from the perspectives of migrant communities. They also study Black and migrant barber shops as wisdom and social knowledge hubs.

Publication Launch

The evening will also feature the launch of a publication summarizing SJDA’s work, offering reflections on social justice and diversity in the arts.
