Arve Henriksen & Harmen Fraanje
Mysterious sounds in new ECM album by renowned duo.
Arve Henriksen & Harmen Fraanje
One-time meeting, or not?
Trumpeter Arve Henriksen and pianist Harmen Fraanje first played together at the Transition Festival in Utrecht in 2019. That concert was meant to be a one-off encounter, but the musical connection between the two musicians was so strong that they decided to continue as a duo. And rightly so, because Fraanje's lyrical style and Henriksen's almost flute-like sound seem almost made for each other. Five years after their first meeting, there is finally an album; earlier this year 'Touch of Time' was released on ECM.
