Robot-Con @ Amsterdam's Biggest Basketball Arena

🏀🏀🏀 We’ll have top robotics companies and student projects showing off their robots in Amsterdam's biggest basketball arena. It'll be an open robotics expo, where you can walk around the arena, check out the robots, and network. We'll also have some fun entertainment (more on that below) at the event. The doors open at 16:00, although of course you can get there later. We know work can be busy!

🤖🤖🤖 We already have over 30 robots coming to Robo Con, including the TU Delft, VU, and UvA robotics departments, large organizations like Monumental, Nebius, the Dutch police force, and Prosus, as well as six robotics startups.

🍿🍿🍿 We'll have some entertainment for this event, including a robot football match (known as a "RoboCup"), a robot dance contest, and a robot race! We also have a t-shirt cannon to fire free t-shirts into the crowd! The show and entertainment will start around 18:00. But it's not just silly entertainment. We'll have an excellent panel after the entertainment portion of the event.

🎤🎤 🎤 The panel will discuss the cutting edge of AI in robotics, and features Sebas Visser, the founder and CTO of Monumental, and Pepijn Kooijmans, who leads Hugging Face's open-source robotics initiative. We'll announce the third and final panelist soon. Seb Vaessen will moderate the panel. Seb leads venture investing in Europe at Prosus, and is investing in robotics companies. After the panel ends, we'll go back to an open expo and networking until they kick us out.

❌❌❌ We're also partnering with the City of Amsterdam for this event, through Amsterdam Trade & Invest and StartupAmsterdam. The City of Amsterdam is committed to promoting deep tech and robotics. One example is the city's recent investment in the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) robotics lab, which brings together students, researchers and startups. Learn more about this fresh initiative at Robo-Con!

🅰️ℹ️ 🌊 Robo-Con Amsterdam is organized by AI on the Amstel. The AI on the Amstel meetup is Amsterdam's largest monthly AI event. We get 250-400+ people/month depending on the size of the venue that month. We go to a new location each month. Founded in 2024, we have almost 7,000 members and a 4.7/5 rating on Meetup. We just started using Luma. Now you can also sign up on Luma!

🤖🤖🤖 We held our first AI on the Amstel meetup on AI and robotics in February 2026, but the venue ultimately wasn't big enough for the topic! We hit the capacity of the space (pictures of the 400 people who attended), and we could only fit relatively small robot demos. So we're going much bigger for v2 of the robotics meetup!

👪👪👪 We've received a lot of questions about whether you can bring one of your children to the event. You're welcome to bring kids. Children still need to be registered though, as we have to keep track of the headcount and make sure we don't go over the venue's capacity. You can sign them up using a different email address, or just use the opposite signup platform (here's the event on Meetup.com) after you sign up on Luma.

📣📣📣 Finally, a shout-out to the sponsors of this event — Prosus and Qwen!

🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺 Prosus is sponsoring Robo-Con, and is committed to nurturing the European robotics ecosystem. Prosus recently published a detailed report on the robotics industry, and is actively investing in the space. You’ll also meet Prosus’ Darwin robot at the event.

🟣🟣🟣 As always, a thank you to Alibaba and Qwen for sponsoring all AI on the Amstel events. Alibaba will be hosting their big annual company conference outside of China for the first time. And they’ll be doing it in Amsterdam! It’s a free conference, and you can sign up here. The Apsara conference is an amazing event where you’ll learn a lot about open-source AI and the Chinese AI landscape.

📸📸📸 Photography and video notice: like all of our events, photography and video recording will take place at this event. By attending, you acknowledge and consent to being photographed or filmed and to the use of these images and recordings for promotional and outreach purposes.
