Amsterdam supports the world’s biggest digital event on social entrepreneurship
SEWF Digital, Social Enterprise World Forum’s largest event to date, is a digital conference powered by partners and sponsors such as Amsterdam Impact, an initiative by the City of Amsterdam to strengthen the impact entrepreneurship ecosystem.
In 2020, the Social Enterprise World Forum is taking its annual conference online and gearing up for its largest-ever event. SEWF Digital, which will take place between the 21st and 25th of September 2020, is expected to draw 3,000 participants from over 50 countries. The event will feature keynotes and plenaries from three different world zones with live Q&A, online networking, and partner-organised sessions. Speakers include leading social entrepreneurs, policymakers, financiers and other innovators.
The week-long programme is built around five key topics:
COVID-19 and the Future of Business: can social entrepreneurs leverage the crisis to speed up the transition to an impact economy?
Youth Engagement: how do young people tackle a perceived complacency for our current economic system?
Social Procurement: how does responsible purchasing contribute to the development of social entrepreneurship?
Climate Crisis: what role do environment-focused social enterprises play in addressing the climate emergency?
Recovery and Rebuilding: what lessons learned from previous crises can social entrepreneurs use to help (local) economies rebuild and recover?
Partnering for global impact
Amsterdam Impact, the City of Amsterdam’s impact entrepreneurship programme, in collaboration with national membership body Social Enterprise NL, is a key partner driving SEWF Digital content for the Europe / Africa / Asia time zone. Together, we will host and contribute to conversations about new innovative economic models, the role of cities and regions in social enterprise development, and the positive influence social enterprises can have on other companies.
