Amsterdam's Oceandiva awarded silver for maritime sustainability at ESG Shipping Awards International

A floating venue making waves in sustainable events

Oceandiva is an Amsterdam-based event ship operator that offers large-scale floating venues for business and cultural events. Its flagship vessel, the Oceandiva Nova, is the first 100% electric-powered event ship of its kind, designed to host conferences, product launches, and corporate gatherings with a reduced environmental footprint. The ship combines modular design with low-emission technology, offering a floating event space that prioritises sustainability, flexibility, and experience.

In May 2025, the Oceandiva’s flagship - Oceandiva Nova - was internationally recognised for its advancements in maritime sustainable technology at the yearly ESG Shipping Awards International. The award jury praised Oceandiva’s "future-proof event location" concept, highlighting how sustainability, experience, and design come together seamlessly on the water. 

The vessel is part of Oceandiva’s broader Green Wave programme, which includes supplier sustainability screening, biofuel options for other vessels, and transparent sustainability reporting.

Amsterdam's sustainable event ambitions

Across the city, Amsterdam’s venues are actively innovating to become more sustainable and to help drive the transition toward greener, more responsible events. Oceandiva’s recent recognition at the ESG Shipping Awards is a strong example of how local partners are contributing to this mission.

Other venues making waves in the sustainable-space scene include Hotel Jakarta, one of the first energy-neutral hotels in The Netherlands, and Johan Cruijff ArenA - an ambitious event space aiming to become net positive by 2030.
