Skytree expands its reach in Amsterdam's climate tech ecosystem
Inaugurating a new climate tech hub
Skytree, a pioneering force in carbon capture technology, marked a significant milestone on January 18th with the inauguration of its new office at the Science Park in Amsterdam. Located within the Matrix ONE building, Skytree's new headquarters boasts state-of-the-art facilities including lab space, engineering rooms, and collaborative office spaces.
Marking a significant milestone for the company as well as Amsterdam's growing prominence as a hub for climate innovation, Skytree now occupies the fifth floor of the Matrix ONE innovation hub– the flagship building at Science Park. Within this space, they have designated areas for labs, engineering facilities, and office spaces dedicated to all teams and departments.
Breakthroughs in carbon capture
During the opening, Skytree presented their latest breakthroughs, featuring a live demonstration of the cutting-edge Skytree Cumulus unit. This patented Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, allows for the extraction of carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from the atmosphere, marking a pivotal shift away from reliance on fossil fuels for CO2 supply.
Skytree’s innovative approach aims to transform how businesses address carbon dioxide solutions, eliminating emissions associated with transportation and creating a more sustainable carbon supply chain. Once installed on-site, the Skytree Cumulus unit captures CO2 from the ambient air, offering a sustainable solution for indoor farmers and greenhouse growers, making Amsterdam stand out as a place where good grows better.
