
Amsterdam’s Next Sense secures €11.5M to accelerate global expansion
Funding boost for smart building innovator
Amsterdam-based Next Sense, a Dutch smart building platform provider, has raised €11.5M in a Series A funding round to scale its global operations and enhance its AI-powered platform. The investment was co-led by ABP and ETF Partners, with continued support from existing backers Edge, SHAPE Capital, and Timeless Investments.
This funding represents an important moment in Next Sense’s mission to decarbonise the built environment, which accounts for 40 per cent of global CO₂ emissions, and enable climate-neutral buildings. These solutions help optimise energy usage, enhance sustainability, and improve occupant experiences. The company’s tools also ensure compliance with regulations like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and align with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Since its formation in early 2024, following a successful merger, Next Sense has experienced rapid growth. The company has doubled its sales volume and expanded its client base to include over 150 high-profile real estate assets. The platform has demonstrated measurable impact, achieving consistent 20-30 per cent energy savings and reducing primary energy consumption by up to 40 per cent per project.
