If you’re considering a new career path in tech or just want to build on your current skillset, there is no time better than the present to invest in yourself and your future. There are many training routes into Amsterdam’s tech scene with many taking place over the summer months. These include both online and in-person courses that range from quick bootcamps to in-depth, kickstart-your-career academies. Some courses are free, but if you need help with financing one of the paid classes, then check out TechMeUp, which provides loans and resources for reskilling courses.

Cybersecurity Bootcamp

A fully remote bootcamp hosted by Ironhack. This 12-week course requires no IT background and prepares participants for a career in cybersecurity. So far, the course has helped thousands of graduates to land job roles in major tech companies. A part-time option (across 24 weeks) is also available.

Data Analytics Bootcamp

Ironhack’s full-time and fully remote data analytics bootcamp runs over nine weeks and equips participants with the essential skills they need for a career in the field. Classes include an introduction to Python, intermediate data analytics and the principles of machine learning. Part-time options are also available for this course.

This is the fourth module of an online and multi-part course on data science by the Analytics Academy. During this course, students will gain hands-on business skills and experience that will enable them to take on their own data science projects and present their findings in a way that resonates with a wide audience.

Front-end Development

Over nine weeks, or 24 weeks part-time, students of Ironhack’s web development bootcamp gain hands-on skills and experience with coding and programming. Course participants learn how to navigate and harness HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create online environments. These essential skills will help them to secure roles in the tech industry as a web developer.

Full stack JavaScript Academy

Taught on-site, this 10-week full-time course by Codaisseur teaches participants how to code in JavaScript, the most widely used programming language. Codaisseur’s ‘no cure, no pay’ policy means students pay an initial admissions fee upon application. The remainder of the tuition fee is paid once they graduate and find employment, with future employers covering the tuition in most cases. If students don’t graduate or don’t get hired within five months, the tuition fee will be waived.

Hack Your Future

This free seven month course is aimed at motivated people (no tech background required) who want to start a career in web development and who may have faced challenging circumstances in their lives, including limited access to education or the labour market. The course includes the fundamentals of full-stack web development, with a focus on modern JavaScript.

Machine Learning & AI

This three-day course at Techionista, a Microsoft Azure Certified Machine Learning and AI track, has students work with machine learning and AI models in the Azure Cloud while working on three business cases. Techionista also offers a more extensive Microsoft Azure Certified Data and AI retraining track, available both full- and part-time.

Power BI Training for Marketers

This two-day workshop by Techionista is aimed at people working in marketing who analyse and visualise data from different marketing sources. This course is available in Dutch only.

UX Design

This 12-week summer course by GrowthTribe features six to 10 hours of study a week. In live online classes, interactive workshops and four one-on-one sessions with a professional mentor, participants learn how to be a well-rounded UX designer, create products that users love and get ready for the job market. The course is tailored to digital professionals, but no design experience is necessary.

Growth Marketing

Led by GrowthTribe, this six-week growth marketing course teaches participants the tools, skills and strategies they will need to launch a career in this field. Through four key modules, students will learn the fundamentals of growth marketing and how this can be applied in a work setting. The course is aimed at beginners and people already in the sector looking to reskill.
