Despite the challenges presented by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Amsterdam’s startup ecosystem is still going strong and attracting interest and investment.
Dutch scale-up Contentoo, which offers a team of freelance translators, designers and writers who create original content, raised €250,000 from angel investors, including the Ten Cate Investment Company. The company will use the money to expand its platform and enhance its sales team.
FinTech startup Factric received €1.4 million in funds from the EU to help it develop an automated risk management system that will use AI to solve problems affecting small businesses that process invoices. The company offers an invoice factoring platform for SMEs across Europe and helps entrepreneurs focus on growing their businesses.
Kaizo, which was previously named Ticketless, has raised $3 million in a seed round. The money will help the company expand its gamified performance management platform for customer service teams, which aims to increase efficiency and engagement. Paratech Partners (Google’s AI-centred venture fund), Gradient Ventures and various angel investors participated in the round.
AI startup LALALand has raised an undisclosed amount in pre-seed funding from ASIF Ventures, a venture capital fund based in Amsterdam that focuses on students and recent graduates. The money will help the company improve its offerings, reach new partners and develop new features.
The startup LoCoMoGo, which was founded in 2019, has raised over €100,000 in funding through Kickstarter. To help children learn coding, LoCoMoGo offers an educational toy train that teaches through play and it will use the money to further develop its product.
Business intelligence platform Pyramid Analytics has procured €22.6 million in growth equity funding in a round led by Jerusalem Venture Partners, as well as existing investors Maor Investments, Sequoia Capital and Viola Growth. It will use the money to expand its global footprint, enhance strategic alliances with partners and become a market leader.
