Amsterdam Capital Week 2017

We at StartupAmsterdam initiated Amsterdam Capital Week to boost the capital ecosystem in the Netherlands and increase the availability of growth capital for startups. The third edition takes place from 25 to 29 September, boasting a whole host of opportunities for startups and scale-ups to secure funding.

The programme features a number of events throughout Amsterdam, including Unlock Impact at Impact Hub, TEDxAmsterdamWomen at Deloitte’s The Edge, a B. Amsterdam Bootcamp at B.3, a Leapfunder Roundtable Session and even a bike race with Volta Ventures. These events – and many others throughout the five days – will give startups the chance to secure funding, get inspired by success stories and immerse themselves in the city’s thriving startup scene.

“With Amsterdam Capital Week, Amsterdam shows its potential to be Europe’s gateway to startup funding,” says Amsterdam’s Deputy Mayor Kajsa Ollongren.

Check out the Amsterdam Capital Week website for more information on the events, including dates, times and pricing.

Helping startups and scale-ups grow

This year, StartupFest Europe is coinciding with Amsterdam Capital Week, providing even more opportunities for high-quality startup support. Everyone knows the Netherlands – and, of course, Amsterdam – is the centre point of the European startup scene, so there’s no better country to host an event that inspires, grows and connects Europe's startups. That’s exactly why StartupFest Europe is bringing an array of great startup events to the Netherlands from 25 to 28 September, including two in Amsterdam: CapitalFest (27 September) and EnergyFest (28 September).

StartupFest Europe, the continent’s leading growth event, is a one-stop shop for startups and scale-ups looking to change the business landscape as they know it with their cutting-edge innovations. The event is doing this in a number of ways, including startup-corporate matchmaking, one-on-one investor meetings and an inspiring programme packed with international speakers.

CapitalFest: helping startups secure funding

StartupFest Europe and Amsterdam Capital Week decided to team up to help connect the founders of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses with top-tier investors – all in a bid to help these startups expand into new countries. The result: CapitalFest.

The event, which is happening in the Beurs van Berlage on 27 September 2017, includes roundtables and private meetings with Europe’s top investors. Investors from ABN AMRO, eBay, Microsoft Ventures, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs will all be present – along with many other huge names.

On top of this, the programme features insightful keynotes from in-the-know global leaders, including Werner Vogels (CTO, Amazon), Deep Nishar (managing director, SoftBank) and Kees Koolen (founding partner, EQT Ventures).

EnergyFest: a day of energy innovation, entrepreneurship and development

EnergyFest – happening at the Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam on 28 September – unites some of the biggest and brightest minds in energy for a day of innovation, business development and entrepreneurship. Investors, corporates, scale-ups and startups will all come together to discuss big disruptors, decentralised energy and – of course – the future of mobility.

Attendees will also get a chance to experience the finals of the New Energy Challenge, where leading startups across Europe compete to come up with innovative energy solutions. There'll also be plenty of workshops and technology showcases kicking off throughout the day.

Of course, the event is ideal for startups looking to pitch to investors, but it’s also an unmissable opportunity for investors seeking their next big investment. And it’s completely free! What are you waiting for? Click here to sign up.

Even more top-notch events across the Netherlands

As well as these two game-changing events in Amsterdam, StartupFest Europe is hosting a new-materials event in Rotterdam, a HighTech-focussed event in Hengelo and a MedTech event in Utrecht. The festival is also bringing three events to The Hague, covering impact, FinTech and blockchain.
