Agility in AmsterdamFounded in Paris in 2013, Wemanity is a company that focuses on making businesses more agile. In this sense, agile refers to a style of project management and software development that constantly evolves, focusing on continuous improvement, and rapid and flexible responses to change.
After expanding into Brussels and London, the company recently opened an Amsterdam branch. “We choose Amsterdam to settle in at first because of its good transport connections and because of the profile of companies in Amsterdam which are very close to our target group, namely Dutch and European headquarters,” said Wemanity branding officer Laure Smit.
Amsterdam serves as an ideal base for both their regional and international customers. “We have great projects and clients in The Hague, Rotterdam, Middelburg and elsewhere in the country. And we also have projects running in Germany, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Russia and so much more,” Smit said. The Wemanity team’s coaches, mentors and technical experts have already helped companies such as JCDecaux, Total and BNP to become more agile.
International businesses choose Amsterdam
Wemanity is not alone in recognising the benefits of settling in Amsterdam: the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area continues to attract more and more international companies every year. In 2016, that amounted to 157 new international companies – most of which are active in ICT, financial services and the creative industry. The region is also popular as a site for European headquarters of multinational corporations.
This strong position is also reflected in the many international rankings that attest to Amsterdam’s leading role in terms of competitiveness and attracting foreign investment. Factors in Amsterdam’s favour include its strategic location in Europe, its excellent (digital) connectivity and its strong international talent pool.
