MEAN WELL establishes European headquarters in Amsterdam Airport City
Why Amsterdam Airport City
MEAN WELL EUROPE N.V. has chosen Businesspark De President in Hoofddorp as the site of its new European headquarters. The decision to locate in Hoofddorp reflects Amsterdam Airport City’s strength as an international business hub. Proximity to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, fast connections to European markets and access to a highly skilled, international workforce were key factors in MEAN WELL’s choice. The location enables efficient logistics and close collaboration with customers and partners across Europe.
Sustainability is central to the project. Coleman Liu, Director of MEAN WELL Europe, says the company aims to create a sustainable and technology-driven headquarters that delivers high-quality products and technical support across Europe. The building will follow LEED guidelines, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, smart systems and responsible construction.
MEAN WELL’s new headquarters will consolidate logistics, technical support and office functions in one location, supporting the company’s expanding European operations. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with completion planned for May 2027. The building, developed by Aan de Stegge Twello, will be realised on a 7,993 m² site, with a total gross floor area of 8,247 m² and a 1,095 m² parking deck.
What MEAN WELL brings to the region
Eva Klein Schiphorst, General Manager of SADC, adds that MEAN WELL’s arrival confirms Businesspark De President’s position as a leading location for international high-tech companies.
The investment highlights Haarlemmermeer’s position as a landing place for internationally operating companies seeking scale, connectivity and sustainable growth. By choosing Amsterdam Airport City, MEAN WELL joins a growing group of global technology firms that use the Amsterdam Area as a strategic European gateway, including Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, and Cisco, all of which operate major European or regional hubs around Schiphol.
