Framer has raised $100 million in Series D funding, pushing its valuation to $2 billion. The Amsterdam-based startup joins a wave of local tech companies scaling internationally while combining innovation with social and environmental impact.

Double unicorn status for Framer

Amsterdam-based Framer has secured $100 million in Series D funding, pushing its valuation to $2 billion and cementing its status as a double unicorn. The round was led by Meritech Capital and Atomico, with support from World Innovation Lab and HV Capital.

Founded by Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk, Framer enables companies to build professional websites quickly, without the need for programming knowledge. The platform is increasingly positioning itself as a global standard in no-code web design.

With the fresh capital, Framer plans to accelerate its US expansion, strengthen its investments in AI, and continue scaling both its product and go-to-market strategy.

We want Framer to be the place where companies manage their entire .com.

Amsterdam and tech innovation

Framer’s funding round comes as Amsterdam strengthens its role as a European tech hub. The city has built a reputation for its international talent base and openness to innovation, with startups in AI, fintech and cleantech drawing global investment.

Alongside scale-ups such as Adyen, Mollie, MessageBird and Picnic, a new generation of companies is emerging with a strong focus on impact. Cradle, working on protein design for sustainable food and health solutions, and Chapter, helping reskill workers and deploy AI-driven tools to speed up the energy transition, reflect how Amsterdam’s ecosystem increasingly aligns tech innovation with broader societal goals.
