Find out where you belong in Amsterdam’s growing ecosystem for social entrepreneurship. Startups, SMEs, large companies, investors, local government organisations, academia and research institutes are all essential players in the impact community.
To create more social value and effectively address Amsterdam’s societal challenges, impact enterprises need a diverse, strongly connected ecosystem, in which all actors work together. This ecosystem is made up of several distinct groups, all of which have their part to play in achieving positive impact. So how does it work?
Incubators, accelerators and network organisations give impact entrepreneurs access to business development programmes and supportive communities.
Companies, organisations and consumers are stimulated to ‘buy social’, buying products and services from impact enterprises.
Financiers, such as investors, banks and VCs, facilitate access to capital so impact entrepreneurs can start and grow their businesses.
Universities and schools help students and pupils develop impact entrepreneurship skills and concrete business models.
Organisations, including corporates, non-profits and the public sector, encourage employees to mentor impact entrepreneurs or to become intrapreneurs and develop internal impact initiatives.
An app that lends a listening ear, a modular electric boat, crochet clubs and a neighbourhood lab. These are only four of the 30 participants of Boost je Buurt 2022 (Dutch for Boost Your Neighbourhood), an initiative by Amsterdam Impact, the City of Amsterdam's impact entrepreneurship programme.
Are you an impact entrepreneur who makes Amsterdam’s neighbourhoods healthier, more inclusive or more sustainable? Then sign up for the second edition of the City of Amsterdam’s Boost je Buurt challenge by 25 February! The most promising entrepreneurs will win a business development programme with a value of €2,500 and an additional development budget of up to €7,500.
It’s that special time of the year: next-level entrepreneurs will (safely) open their doors to show how they create a positive impact through business. Here’s how you can support them not just during The Impact Days 2021 but on a daily basis!
