Amsterdam-based smart energy company Quatt secures €10M from ABN AMRO
Quatt to scale smart home energy solutions from Amsterdam
The energy scale-up has secured €10 million in financing from ABN AMRO to speed up the rollout of its smart home energy technologies, giving the company room to grow its product range beyond heat pumps into cooling, batteries and energy software. The aim is to reduce grid congestion, maximise household savings and make sustainable living more accessible and attractive.
Founded in 2021 by brothers Marijn and Bas Flipse, Quatt, headquartered in Amsterdam, employs around 300 people. The fast-growing tech company is building an integrated platform that connects hardware and software to optimise energy use at home and relieve pressure on the electricity grid.
The new funding, provided by ABN AMRO’s Corporate Banking unit, will be used to expand working capital, build larger inventories and improve delivery speeds as demand for smart energy solutions continues to rise across the Netherlands. It will also support the further development and market rollout of Quatt’s broader product portfolio, including the Quatt HomeBattery, dynamic energy contracts and its EnergyOS management system.
Over the past five years, we have secured a leading position in the Dutch heat pump market. This new financing will enable us to achieve a similar position in the market for cooling, home batteries and energy, while maintaining scale in heat pumps. The next step is smart, integrated control of energy in the home: heat pumps, batteries, and software working together in real time.
