IN Amsterdam’s 2025 wrap-up

2025 was a successful year at IN Amsterdam – read about our highlights in our wrap-up of the year.

Working together to make people feel at home

As we’re looking back on the past year, we’d like to thank all our partners and clients for a successful 2025! Together, we’re making sure that the Amsterdam Area continues to be a welcoming environment for international talent.

Strengthening international connections

This year, we further refined our strategy. In addition to supporting the arrival and settling in of new international talent, we are increasingly focusing on retaining and connecting talent that already lives in the region, so that international professionals and their families can continue to feel at home here.

And we are clearly on the right track. We have reached and helped thousands of internationals and launched new initiatives and collaborations with a noticeable impact. One of our highlights in 2025 was to witness the growing enthusiasm among partners, employers and communities for building really strong social onboarding frameworks for internationals.

Supporting new arrivals

Supporting newly arrived international talent and their families remains the cornerstone of our activities. In 2025, we:

  • assisted approximately 12,000 international professionals and their family members, arranging formalities and providing essential information, while also supporting a growing group of longer-established internationals seeking advice;
  • supported countless companies and organisations – big and small, Dutch and international – with helping their international employees settle in;
  • further optimised our services, including information appointments with the IND and a walk-in helpdesk with ACCESS

And we are pleased to say that 97% of our clients said they were very satisfied with our services!

Retaining and connecting international talent

Supporting the existing international community in everyday matters, career development and social integration is our other most important task. In 2025, we:

  • kept  in touch with internationals in the region: we had around 40,000 visitors per month to the ‘Living’ section of the I amsterdam website and our newsletter for internationals has more than 11,000 readers
  • hosted 20 in-person and online events and expanded activities focused on language, culture and volunteering, reaching over 1,400 internationals;
  • explored social onboarding opportunities for international professionals and their families, laying the foundations for new pilots and regional programmes;
  • strengthened support for partners and spouses through the job orientation programme  and hosted monthly online career sessions with EURES;
  • achieved breakthroughs in career pathways for partners and spouses – as well as other foreign-language professionals – towards sectors with labour shortages. This included the successful completion of our first pilot for healthcare professionals which resulted in two-thirds moving into healthcare roles, follow-up programmes with hospitals, and the launch of a second healthcare pilot;
  • played an active role in launching IDCN Amsterdam Utrecht Area, the international dual career network

Strengthening the international talent ecosystem

Being part of– and actively shaping it – a strong network is one of our main priorities. In the past year, we:

  • established dialogue and partnerships around the topic of social onboarding with employers, academic institutions, intermediaries, partners, communities, MRA municipalities and other parties
  • deepened and strengthened relationships with employers of international professionals, both large employers and SMEs.
  • expanded corporate and partner networks, with a growing LinkedIn and corporate newsletter reach of over 1,100 subscribers and over 60 partners.
  • strengthened our international network and welcomed delegations from Denmark, Sweden and others.

Thank you to all our partners and clients for making it all possible. In 2026, we will continue to build on this foundation, with a strong focus on social onboarding, talent retention and collaboration with employers and partners across the region. We invite you to join us!
