We can’t wait to help you host your next meeting or congress in vibrant Amsterdam. But safety is key, now more than ever. Luckily, Amsterdam is known for its creativity, collaboration, openness and innovation. We work closely with venues, hotels, restaurants, local transportation and cultural institutions so we can make sure you and your guests enjoy a safe stay during your meeting or event.

It starts by getting to Amsterdam safely. Amsterdam is easily reached by train, plane and car. Face masks and social distancing are mandatory on public transport, and additional safety and hygiene measures are in place.
Some travellers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test result when travelling to the Netherlands and other restrictions on entry may apply. Visit government.nl for the current protocols and regulations. If you have questions, get in touch.
- Travel comfortably to Amsterdam by train
International trains from London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Brussels, Antwerp and Paris take you to Amsterdam in just a few hours. A comfortable way to travel, and potentially productive too – you can bring a laptop and work on the train.
It’s likely that your train journey will end at Amsterdam Central Station or at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Station, which is only 20 minutes away from the city centre by public transport. Trains to the centre leave every five minutes. Buses and taxis are also available.
- Flying to Amsterdam
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is also your hub when you arrive by plane. At Schiphol, all the general precautions and measures apply. Schiphol remained open during the pandemic and from March 15, most flights to direct destinations are scheduled to resume. Once you reach Central Station, hotels, venues and restaurants are literally at your feet. An extensive network of trams, metros and buses make it easy to get around town quickly.
Capital with a ‘village vibe’
Dutch people often describe Amsterdam as a 'village', especially when compared to other European capitals. But thankfully this only applies to travel distances and the laid back vibe - the city has plenty to offer when it comes to facilities and entertainment!
Choose your venue
Amsterdam offers a wide selection of impressive venues for your meeting, conference or convention. There are more than 500 venues to choose from, ranging from small groups up to 50,000 people. Every venue is following strict guidelines to make events as safe as possible, such as taking extra hygiene measures, maintaining enough distance between participants, and providing good ventilation. But we wouldn’t be one of the most innovative cities in Europe if we didn’t come up with a range of additional possibilities.
Hybrid meetings: the new trend
How about turning your event into a hybrid meeting? Many venues offer professional studio facilities and a seamless integration of technology to facilitate participation between a live and virtual audience. Invite a selection of your guests to Amsterdam and let the rest of the participants engage with your event virtually, no matter where they are in the world.
Hybrid events are not only COVID-mitigated, but also sustainable. After all, less travel means less CO2 emissions. A well-organised hybrid event will put your online and live audience on the same level. It’s a new, modern way of organising your event which we predict is here to stay long after social distancing measures end. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about organising a hybrid event.
Group activities, hotels and restaurants
Of course, when visiting Amsterdam you don’t want to miss out on exploring the city. Discover one of Amsterdam’s 86 museums and art galleries, such as Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum or the Anne Frank House, book a canal cruise, bike tour or walking tour, visit highlights and hidden gems... the possibilities are endless.
