Connection to a place comes more easily when you connect with its people. The Nexxxt Step is a new event to help internationals settle in. There are two sessions coming up: Thursday, 28 May and Wednesday, 24 June.
Feel at home in the Amsterdam Area – and do it in good company
The Nexxxt Step is part of a pilot programme offering internationals in the Amsterdam Area the chance to meet new people, learn about the city and explore meaningful ways to participate in local life.
The event includes a guided session to help participants identify a next step they can take towards feeling more at home.
Who it’s for
The session is for international professionals and their accompanying partners in the Amsterdam Area, looking to build social connections.
Participation is by invitation through a participating employer. Invited employees are welcome to bring an accompanying partner.

A relaxed setting with space for real conversation
The story of Amsterdam and its surrounds brought to life
Candid insights into building a social life and lasting connections
The role of Dutch in supporting everyday interactions
Ways to volunteer and engage with local communities
Drinks and the chance to get better acquainted with participants
Brigitte Vonck-Makkinje (Serve the City) on volunteering and meaningful participation
Employers: register and invite your employees
Employers are responsible for inviting their employees and their partners to attend.
Dates available: Thursday, 28 May or Wednesday, 24 June
Registration deadline: Monday, 11 May
A limited number of places is available per company.
