During this fourth edition in the run-up to Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, De Balie, together with international guests, looks at Amsterdam as the Queer Capital of the World. What developments are specific to Amsterdam when it comes to gender identity? Join talks with writers, fashion designers, filmmakers and politicians in conversation about struggle, emancipation and the importance of a sanctuary. Freethinkers Festival is part of Amsterdam 750 years. On October 27, 2025, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary and in the run-up to this milestone, various programs, including the Free Thinkers Festival, will be organized to celebrate this.
