Very strong mix

The band has been around since the early 1980s and manages to stay relevant through its strong mix of rock 'n' roll, folk rock from the British Isles, Celtic influences, synths from yesteryear and literary references.

Scottish guitarist and vocalist Mike Scott started the band after his previous band broke up. The first formation came together through calls in the newspaper and today, after several changes, the band consists of Scott, Paul Brown on keyboard, Ralph Salmins on drums and Aongus Ralston on bass. The timeless music, including 'The Whole Of The Moon' and 'How Long Will I Love You' has been covered by Prince, The Killers, U2, Ellie Goulding, The War On Drugs and can be heard in various films and series.
