Dynamic performance with theater, dance and documentary
SubLab Scene and NoMads present a dynamic performance with theater, dance and documentary elements. NoMads is a dance and theater collective known for its interdisciplinary, experimental and location-specific approach, based in both Croatia and Amsterdam.
The makers see this production as an artistic exploration of European identity from a female perspective, through an exchange between different cultures and generations. They investigate how migration within Europe forms the mosaic of European identity.
The performance aims to break the taboos surrounding migration and is based on various interviews. Given the fact that the makers are all women over 50, the question also arises whether you are still wanted on stage as a person over 50. The makers do not immediately delve deeper into this theme, but it is there: art is not about perfection, technology or superficial, external beauty. It's about creative expression and the need to share your soul stirrings. Or, as the makers themselves say: The body is our home, it carries with it all the memories of past and present experiences. It's about real life and real people. And somehow we think this is a beautiful message in a time of botox insecurity, when we put so much energy into our fading outward image.”
