In a coveted competition for dancers and choreographers, participants compete for prizes that can help them flourish in the professional dance world. Young dance talent from many countries will perform during the international dance competition AmsterDans. The doors will be opened to the public on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May.

International Dance Competition
AmsterDans is being organized for the 7th time. On both days the public can come and watch talented dancers within the dance genres of ballet and modern contemporary dance. There will also be choreographies in dance styles of your choice for the Emerging Choreographers category. On May 18, the children (8-11) and juniors (12-15) can be seen and on Sunday, March 19, the young adults (16-26) and the choreographic pieces with makers from 18 years old. At the end of each day there is an awards ceremony.
Dance professional jury
All dancers are judged by an international jury. This year the jury members are Stéphen Delattre, director of Delattre Dance Company in Mainz Germany, Monique Duurvoort, director of MDDance and former dancer with the National Ballet, Marjolein Rooduijn, teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and Eytan Sivak, Principal Teacher of Stockholm Ballet academy and former dancer of the Cullberg Ballet in Sweden.
Awards for a dancing career
In addition to gold, silver and bronze medals, dancers can also win other prizes, such as scholarships, cash prizes and gift vouchers. Study grants can be won for prestigious dance institutes at home and abroad.
