The Amrâth is also known as the 'Scheepvaarthuis' (Shipping house), a monumental masterpiece of the Amsterdamse School architecture movement; it was built in 1913 as a distinguished head office for the major Dutch shipping companies. The eight function rooms range from intimate board rooms to spacious rooms such as Ray’s Club, which can host a maximum of 150 guests. The council chamber, where the board used to hold their meetings, adds an extra sense of grandeur. All meeting rooms include an audio-video projector and a laptop free of charge. In the Seven Seas restaurant, diners can enjoy French and Mediterranean cuisine.

The Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam is located at only 500 metres from Amsterdam Central Station and about a kilometre from the famous Dam square. The hotel is very easy to reach by public transport or car.

We work with suppliers who work with reliable quality marks and therefore with fair, organic and regional products. The hotel strives for a responsible waste stream. We work together with Blycolin for our hotel linen, who use less water, reduce CO2 emissions, optimize transport and use sustainable products. The hotel works with full-service catering wholesaler Hanos, for food and non-food products. By opting for this wholesale construction, we considerably limit the number of transport movements. Furthermore the hotel encourages guests and employees to come to the hotel by public transport. At last the hotel supports various initiatives and organizations that are committed to society, whether this is providing a neighborhood drink or facilitating meetings of associations and foundations.
