Banque Chaabi du Maroc, a subsidiary of the Moroccan banking group Banque Populaire du Maroc Group (GPB), has officially opened office.
Banque Chaabi du Maroc, the first Moroccan bank in the Netherlands, held its opening ceremonyin its new office in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area on 17 December, 2010. The Amsterdam office serves as head office for the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Banque Chiaabi now has four branches in the Netherlands and says it will open at least one other in 2010. It will not only focus on Dutch-Moroccan customers but also on private Dutch customers and companies wishing to do business in Morocco.
The expansion of Banque Populaire du Maroc Group, the market leader in Morocco with 750 branches and three million customers, through its subsidiary into the Dutch market is part of a European strategy. It aims to have 40 branches in Europe.
