NEMO Science Museum

Right next to the Central Station is one of the most modern architectural highlights of Amsterdam. NEMO Science Museum, the large, green building houses the largest science museum in the Netherlands. The building was designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano. From the roof square you can admire a magnificent view of Amsterdam.

NEMO Science Museum is the largest Science museum in the Netherlands, created for anyone with a curious mind. Visitors of all ages are welcome to discover the world of science and technology. NEMO takes you into the wonders of the everyday. Discover, for example, how bridges work, why you sometimes see things that are not there and what causes lightning, in the interactive exhibits. Workshops, videos, experiments and demonstrations complement the NEMO experience. A crackling sweater or a rainbow: you will see the world around you as never before after a visit to NEMO.

Science fascinates

Dive into the world of science. Create a soap bubble you can even stand in or take on the role of a chemist and do experiments in a Laboratory. On the fourth floor of NEMO you will find Humania where you'll learn all about your own species: humankind, through games, tests and museum objects. If you would like to take a break, you are welcome in one of NEMO's catering establishments, where you can enjoy a drink and a snack.

Fenomena

Physics is everywhere: the colours of a rainbow, a crackling sweater and the difference in voice pitch between men and women. At Fenomena you can conjure up these phenomena yourself and immediately see how it works. Discover how ordinary and yet surprising natural phenomena such as light, sound and static electricity work.

Book your ticket with start time, also with your City Card

To visit the NEMO Science Museum, you must book a ticket in advance, also with your City Card. Book a ticket via this link, select your start time and if applicable choose the 'I amsterdam City Card' ticket during checkout. Make sure your City Card is valid at the time of your visit.

NEMO Shop

A visit to the NEMO Science Museum naturally ends in the NEMO Shop, where all kinds of exciting scientific souvenirs for young Einsteins are for sale. Whether you go home with a plasma ball, 'Bounce Egg', Molecule Construction Kit or the 'Da Vinci Watch', you are sure to find something here.
