Invest-NL funds €5M for climate technologies and circular initiatives
Stimulus to drive sustainable consumer market products
The consumer market consists primarily of products that people use as part of their everyday lives and currently contributes two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) which is why Invest-NL, has announced funding of €5 million into Regeneration.VC Fund II. This venture capital fund specialises in backing circular and innovative climate technologies targeted at consumers.
Regeneration.VC is investing in ‘Consumer Climate Tech’ the hardware and software necessary for the consumer market to transition towards sustainability. The main aspect of this collaboration is the partnership between Regeneration.VC and the Circle Economy Foundation, a collaboration aimed at harnessing industry expertise and unlocking new avenues for investment.
Collaborating in the Netherlands and beyond
Regeneration.VC Fund II, with a planned fund size of €150 million, is geared towards investments originating from and within the Netherlands and connecting Dutch companies to the US. The fund also seeks to accelerate the circular transition within consumer industries while supporting Dutch startups in their growth and international expansion endeavours.
The Netherlands is rapidly establishing itself as one of the leading circular hotspots, where funding plays a crucial role. Invest-NL has already supported many Dutch startups, including well-known Amsterdam-based names like Crisp, QuantWare, Fourthline, and E-magy, showing support for the growth of Dutch startups on the international stage.
