Electriq Global receives €1.1M grant for hydrogen innovation

Electriq Global: fueling the future

Electriq Global, the pioneer and market leader in Solid Hydrogen Carriers has been recognised by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and awarded a €1.1M grant. This grant propels Electriq’s next initiative – their Hydrogen Powder manufacturing plant. Based at the Port of Amsterdam, Electriq will work with Zenith Energy Terminals, the energy solutions provider committed to zero-emission fuel storage. 

Through the support of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and Amsterdam in business, Electriq Global is able to expand their business in the Netherlands, and support the Port of Amsterdam’s transition into a hub for hydrogen carriers. Electriq’s anticipated Hydrogen Powder plant will begin operations in 2026.

Empowering sustainable hydrogen solutions 

The Port of Amsterdam – a central hub for green hydrogen carriers stands alongside the H2A association, who is at the forefront of promoting innovative and sustainable hydrogen solutions. Their work includes driving innovation, but also focuses on connecting like-minded businesses and research initiatives with one another. Both the H2A association and the Port of Amsterdam play a pivotal role in turning this project into a reality.

Dorine Bosman, Chief Investor Officer at Port of Amsterdam expressed strong support for the Electriq Powder Plant, highlighting its alignment with H2A's mission. Both the Port of Amsterdam and the H2A association share a clear vision for Amsterdam’s energy future with a commitment to ensuring the Port of Amsterdam's circular economy by 2050. This dedication is pivotal  for Electriq Globals sustainable operations in the future. 

Electriq Global selecting the Port of Amsterdam as their base for their Powder plant solidifies Amsterdam’s dedication to reducing raw material consumption by 50% and becoming a waste free economy by 2050. Their commitment to a greener future aligns seamlessly with the work that the H2A association is continuing to do to establish the Port of Amsterdam as a European base when it comes to importing and storing green hydrogen.
