Dancing is officially banned in Iran. Since the Islamic Revolution, all dance companies have had to close their doors. Many dancers and choreographers have fled abroad. Those who still live there must be resourceful. How do they keep this art form alive? Theater maker Nastaran Razawi Khorasani presents the dance performce 'This is not a dance' about censorship in Frascati.

This is not a dance
What can be seen and what can't? As music and lighting push each other further and further, she tries to restrain her dancing body.
During the performance, Nastaran gives the stage to the voices of choreographers and dancers living in Iran and the diaspora. How do they deal with the dance ban? How do they practice their profession, what danger do they run, what freedoms do they fight for? This is not a dance is a tribute to the body that wants to move. A tribute to the art that must be made, in whatever form.
