“Mi abbatto e sono felice" (in Italian)

"Mi abbatto e sono felice" is a monologue with zero environmental impact, self-ironic, and irreverent, encouraging contemplation on finding happiness by reducing the impact each of us has on the planet. In an era of well-being where discomfort, crisis, and pollution are increasingly pressing, the performance raises questions about the belief that human happiness is directly proportional to productivity, referencing the ethical principles of "Decrescita felice" ('happy shrinkage') by Italian essayist Maurizio Pallante.

Following the concept of Teatro a Pedali, the actor generates the energy needed for the performance by cycling while guiding the audience in a spiral between past and present. The past is inspired by his grandfather's experiences, infused with freshness and sincerity, while the present is hectic and marked by fatigue from constant rushing.

The performance is delivered in Italian with accompanying Dutch text available. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
