Manoj Kamps

The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century has a rich tradition of Mozart operas, which are often performed semi-scenic. Tonight, Così fan tutte is led by the young Dutch conductor, theater maker and composer Manoj Kamps, who made his debut with Dutch National Opera in 2020. Kamps' passion for opera has already been heard on many stages.

Cos�� fan tutte , 'So do all women', is one of Mozart's most balanced operas – also in the symmetry of the six protagonists. Lorenzo Da Ponte's clever libretto tells a story of trickery, deceit and love, fortunately with a happy ending. And Mozart supports the action with wonderful sounds. The full richness of Mozart's personality is in this music: sometimes passionate, sometimes 'tongue in cheek'.
