Julidans - Cirkel Solo's - Dalton Jansen & Sherise Strang

Especially for the first edition of Dansdagen Haarlem last April, young choreographers with various dance styles each created a 'circle solo': a choreography danced by one dancer within an illuminated circle. This resulted in an intense and intimate dance diptych in which the audience sits in a circle around the dancer. Due to great success, it can now also be seen during Julidans.

UNseen

In UNseen, Sherise Strang explores her most vulnerable side. She explores the impact of a physical scar and the emotional scars it leaves behind. It is a journey of discovery towards recognition, the desire to be seen, and embracing all facets of oneself.

Dear Future Me

In Dear Future Me, award-winning creator Dalton Jansen takes you on an exciting journey to a futuristic world. Dressed in a glitter suit, Jansen enters a new universe where urban and contemporary dance come together. The choreography not only explores the limits of the physical body but also the limits of the imagination.

The solos were commissioned by Schuur and Stadsschouwburg Haarlem, with support from the Province of North Holland (impulse-starting makers).
