Holland Festival: Evolution of Fearlessness - Lynette Wallworth
About the power of the human mind
For Evolution of Fearlessness, Lynette Wallworth filmed portraits of eleven women who live in Australia, but come from countries such as Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq and El Salvador. They have lived through wars, survived concentration camps, or endured extreme violence. The work focuses on a state beyond terror and loss that most closely resembles that of grace.
Evolution of Fearlessness is built around the importance of the gesture, providing a tangible entrance to the women in the work, whose stories we glimpse but do not speak. The work is an intimate revelation of the power of the human spirit.
