Holland Festival: adrienne maree brown - HF Young Bookclub
In the book club in De Balie, a different book is discussed each time, which is in line with the themes and performances of the Holland Festival. All three books have a clear link with the festival programme. The third and last book we read this year was written by an artist who will also be featured in the Holland Festival in June. In Pleasure Activism, adrienne maree brown puts herself and asks us the question: 'How do we make social justice the most pleasant human experience?'.

About HF Young Book Club
Everyone is welcome, young and old. The setting: comfortably in the Salon of De Balie. Think of a Sunday afternoon on the couch with a cup of tea. Under the guidance of a moderator, we discuss our reading experience for the first hour. What did you notice while reading? What hit you? What frustrated you? Afterwards, an invited expert takes us into the author's background and the book itself.
Other Book Clubs discuss Chasing Your Squad Over the Bones of the Dead by Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk and Poukahangatus by Tayi Tibble. The mysterious novel Chase Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk forms the starting point for the new production by Simon McBurney and Complicité. In Poukahangatus, Tayi Tibble sketches a bold new way of dealing with history, connecting modernity and origin, desire and exploitation - themes that associate artist ANOHNI also deals with.
