Het HEM
PLEASE NOTE: As of Oct. 31, the HIM is closed due to a large-scale renovation in the fall of 2024, we will reopen the doors with a new, permanent phase in which we return with an even more ambitious, diverse and layered artistic program. Het HEM is a former munitions factory in an exceptional architectural space where multidisciplinary art programmes unfold by today’s makers and thinkers. Plus, there’s a restaurant, bar and library to ensure an inspiring cultural day out.
Temporary closure due to renovation
After almost four years of experiments, it is time for the next step. The building, which had been almost empty for almost ten years before the opening of Het HEM, is due for a large-scale renovation. Insulation, sustainability and public facilities are due for an upgrade. At the same time, we are taking advantage of the renovation to further expand the technical facilities for exhibitions, concerts, performances and night culture, while preserving the overall appearance of the culture house. With the reopening of Het HEM in the autumn of 2024, a new, permanent phase will begin in which we will return with an even more ambitious, diverse and layered artistic program.
