House fire
When Meysam is a little boy, his sister dies in a house fire. At least, that's what he's told. But he has other memories, deeply hidden, that no one wants to explain: he remembers the tormented confession of a young man in a prison cell. There's talk of an international arrest and the hanging of four men in the village square.
Now that he is an adult and most of his family is gone, will those left behind finally tell him the truth?
The Chord is an Iranian family tragedy and murder mystery. It tells the story of the resilience of women and the traditional power relations that test them to the limit.
Four Weddings and an Iranian Funeral
In 2021, Meysam Forooz and co-creator Sahand Sahebdivani created the performance Four Weddings and an Iranian Funeral, which was about the lives of Iranian gay men. After its premiere at the Amsterdam Storytelling Festival, he performed this performance on national and international stages.
