LIMP
Two entities on their way to distort the shape. Each has its own path, yet interwoven in a dance of being stuck and breaking free, loneliness and connection, hate and love, and the complexity of the simple person.
A personal performance that emphasizes duality and how this makes our human existence extraordinarily rich. The name LIMP embodies this ambiguity with the English words 'limb' and 'limping'. 'Limb' is translated to a body part, an empty shell, a form that does not have to be more or less. A representation of utmost authenticity. 'Limping' refers to stumbling with expectations, shapes and steadfast patterns like a block to your leg. Progress is impossible, forcing you to adopt a modified form; the disguised purity of man.
In LIMP, a place is created where movement, feeling and language come together to investigate the following question: What happens when you give the concealed skin breathing space?
Meiti
Solo performance in which dance and visual art come together to represent the internal process. The internal process of losing trust in your body. What happens when you feel like your body is letting you down? How do you respond to that? And how do you ultimately regain your inner strength?
You are not your trauma; you have experienced trauma. You are not your symptoms; you have certain symptoms.
Immerse yourself in Gianine's inner world, a space filled with white spots, reflections, thoughts and the power of the body.
