Yet Another Day in Paradise - Lukas Karvelis

In this modern dance performance, Lukas Karvelis investigates how experiences from our past influence the way we form relationships in the present. Two protagonists try to find their own individual balance but are dependent on each other. They embrace very tightly – closer and closer than kissing distance – while trying to balance on a shared skateboard. They spin in endless circles, experiencing both rejection and acceptance. Their movements develop into a manifestation of the determination of the human spirit, a poignant reflection on the complexities of intimacy and the eternal search for connection.

In his artistic work, Lukas searches for the crucial moment when change occurs in the body and deviates from social and personal trauma. He currently connects this movement research to the social phenomenon of addiction, in both the body and the mind.

In re:shape or headless into the sea , the audience is invited to witness the creation of the world of the wobbles, a fantasy species inspired by marine invertebrates. As hybrids between humans and soft, boneless creatures, the wobbles inhabit the large, shiny wobbles spaces once made by man.

Together you experience how these futuristic creatures temporarily take over Frascati. Soon the space is filled with constantly changing bodies, soft whispers, and deep, vibrating sounds coming from somewhere far, far away. By zooming in on the fragile movements of these watery creatures , this work invites you to pause and immerse yourself in a world of fluid bodies, queer fantasies, tentacular movements, hypersensitivity, and non-human experiences of time.
