Black Box: First Movement
In this dance of rotating spotlights, opening curtains and falling standards, compositions are made with everything that is already in the room, but is normally hidden from attention. The buzzing of the lights turning on, the humming engines that lower the grid, the air conditioning, the squeaking seats and the feedback from distorting microphones. A first step in Finn Borath and Boris de Klerk's research into how to see the black box, which is designed to give space to the actors and the set, itself as the protagonist.
Corina Mitrovici creates spaces in which her work can arouse curiosity and excitement. Her work straddles the line between performance, social space and performative interventions, often with dreamy atmospheres and meditative soundscapes.
As a comedienne, she enjoys challenging artistic practice and questioning the appearance of success in the performing arts. As a choreographer, Corina strives to improve her craft and design a perfectly lazy way of making, while meeting the audience with joy, focus and comfort.
In 2017, Corina received the danceWEB grant and performed
