Chicago tells the story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and betrayal - all those things that are close to our hearts, according to the introduction at the beginning of the show.

Solid example of trial by media
Crime is presented as show business and the audience witnesses a solid example of trial by media. The musical tells the story of sensational murderess Velma Kelly, the reigning queen of the Cook County jail, and Roxie Hart, who takes her first steps on the criminal path. By the way, these ladies say they have not really committed a crime.
Their male victims asked for it themselves, it was what they deserved... With classics such as 'All That Jazz', 'Roxie' and 'Razzle Dazzle', Chicago will definitely be a hit with the Amsterdam audience.
