It fits in with the activist performances with which choreographer and theater maker Cecilia Moisio has made a name for herself. The performance breaks taboos about the female body and sexuality and forms a statement about the social position of women today.

Cecilia mixes the raw, rhythmic, exhausting dance in an explosive choreography with confrontational text, humor, emotional music, singing, primal sounds and 1940s Hollywood scenes.

Cecilia Moisio

Originally from Finland, Cecilia Moisio danced with Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel and then with Ward/waRD – Ann Van den Broek. In 2014 she won the prize of the Nederlandse Dansdagen and in 2019 the prize of the Nederlandse Dansdagen Jong Publiek.

As a choreographer, she has now created 27 performances that have been performed in 15 countries. In the (inter)national performing arts world she is seen as a versatile and innovative maker with a multidisciplinary style.

Her work is raw, putting things into perspective, psychological but also very humorous. She achieved great success with 'Victory' at Maas theater and dance, where she has been a regular guest maker ever since.
