In 1993, Boom Chicago opened its doors as Amsterdam’s first English-speaking sketch comedy and improv theater. What began as an idea sparked by a few puffs of weed has (somehow) turned into the quirky yet influential training ground for some of the most successful and brilliant comedic minds working in Hollywood.

Many famous comedians including Jordan Peele, Seth Meyers, Amber Ruffin, and the creators and stars of Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly) got their start at Boom Chicago.
To celebrate, Boom Chicago's new show is an exciting roast of the theater's 30-year history and the times that we experienced in Amsterdam, America and the world through the years.
Boom, Roasted! takes a hysterical look at today and a look back at the past. With a mix of great old writing (that still holds up), brand new thinking and sharp improvisation, the current cast (of future superstars) delivers a big night of big laughs!
