Black Earth

As systems and climate collapse around us, we consider the question: what does the death of rationality have to do with being in a reciprocal relationship with Earth? Can we collaborate with and accelerate the collapse to start anew? How much death do we need to promote to give room to life? Learn more at the Felix Meritis in Amsterdam.

Designing Reciprocal Futures

Hosted by Valley of the Possible, Centre for Regenerative Culture in Chilean Patagonia, this evening features talks with Milton Almonacid (philosopher and cultural researcher), Felipe Viveros (British-Chilean activist and artist) and a participatory visualization workshop by Milton Almonacid and a group of Valley of the Possible’s BLACK EARTH 2022 residency program.

Valley of the Possible

We encourage interhemispheric, intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange through open calls and curated programs. We invite up-and-coming artists, established professionals and other visionary spirits from all disciplines and backgrounds with an interest in subjects related to, and at the intersection of, art, ecology, science and non-western narratives.

In conjunction with curators, we produce tailor-made programs exploring specific themes. Additionally, we offer a platform to investigate an inclusive and community-led model for the rewilding and regeneration of nature, specifically this remote valley in the Chilean Andes. Through this continuous collaborative process, we are slowly building a soon-to-be refugio for art and research.
