Rymden brings musical space

Rymden is Swedish for 'space'; you could see the three band members as space travellers. On their album Space Sailors they leave the earthly atmosphere to explore the cosmos with piano, keyboards, bass and drums, supplemented with electronics and effects. Ambience and melody go hand in hand with heavy riffs and beats.

Space Sailors is the perfect follow-up to the group's first album, Reflections and Odysseys. Rymden originated from two legendary Scandinavian bands, New Conception of Jazz and EST.

Pianist Bugge Wesseltoft embraced new trends in dance and electronics with New Conception of Jazz. EST brought a new, original vision of the piano trio led by pianist Esbjörn Svensson, who passed away unexpectedly. In Rymden, Bugge Wesseltoft plays with bassist Dan Berglund and drummer Magnus Öström, the remaining members of EST.
