Wayang puppet making workshop
Make your own Wayangpop
Wayang (puppet in Indonesian) is a light and shadow puppet show from Indonesia with a long tradition. By placing a lamp or other light source behind a large canvas and letting the dolls move between them, a fascinating play of shadow and light is created.
In this workshop, you will make your own Wayangpop. What should the doll look like, and how do you ensure its arms can move? Once you've assembled your doll, you can start thinking about the clothes. Which materials not only suit your doll but also give a nice shadow effect? While you are at work, you can try out your puppet in the mini wayang theatre until you are satisfied. And of course, you can take the doll home with you after the workshop!
