Paulo is a taxi driver with financial problems. As he drives through the streets of Rio at night, he listens to the stories of his passengers. The stories intertwine, forming a mosaic of voices that reveal the complexities and injustices of the megalopolis.
The film series - 'Transatlántidas. La tercera raíz' - shows the best of Latin American cinema: the island as space and the island as metaphor for the isolation of the Afro-descendant protagonists are the common denominator in these four South American films.
