The Blues Has Got Me

When Jan J. Scherpenzeel aka JJ Sharp and Kees Dusink founded the 12BBB in 2005, they undoubtedly had in mind that this would not just become a follower of a blues band. They got it right because when their debut CD: 'The Blues Has Got Me' was released in 2006, their name had already been made in the Netherlands and abroad.

Final agreement

On May 29, 2015, the final agreement was reached for the legendary 12BBB after 10 successful years; 4 beautiful CDs, various awards and hundreds of performances at home and abroad. The music of 12BBB is still played on blues radio stations worldwide and the live recordings viewed on YouTube are almost exploding. In recent years, the stream of requests to bring the band back together has increased. The lack among the band members also became increasingly stronger and they jointly decided to meet the demand.

Close base

The Twelve Bar Blues Band mainly plays their own work(!) and takes their inspiration from the Chicago blues. Led by super tandem Jan J. Scherpenzeel, alias JJ Sharp (Lead Vocals&Harmonica) and Kees Dusink, (Lead&Slide guitar), the band knows how to amaze audiences and organizers with every performance of the high quality and the ultimate blues atmosphere as you can find in a pub in Chicago or New Orleans would expect. The collaboration between these two grandmasters turns out to be unlikely to work out well. As a composer duo, they form the basis of almost the entire 12BBB repertoire and the two also know how to find each other blindly on stage and to push the music to great heights. Furthermore, 12BBB has a rhythm section that in itself is worth sitting down for. Bassist Patrick “Sideburn” Obrist, drummer Jeffrey van Duffelen and 2nd guitarist Peter Langerak together form the solid foundation of 12BBB.
