Open Monument Day Amsterdam
The 37th edition of Open Monuments Day will take place on Saturday 09 and Sunday 10 September 2023 with a new theme. Last edition the theme was sustainability. Monuments seem durable because of their age, but in use they often are not. In order to pass on our heritage to future generations, 'green' adaptations are necessary. There is still much to be gained, but in such a way that these buildings do not lose their cultural-historical value. PLEASE NOTE: Listed dates and starting times for 2023 are subject to change

The monuments that open their doors for free during Open Monument Day Amsterdam show how you can look at sustainability in different ways. Think of: reuse of materials and repurposing, insulation, water management, increasing comfort and heating monuments. During the weekend of September 09 and 10, 2023, not only monuments can be visited, but there is also an original program with lectures, tours by junior guides and much more.
